In recognition of the vast potential of the Philippines in terms of manpower resource, USST was established in September of 1994 as a technical and vocational training school. The founders sought to provide students the opportunity to have formal but low-cost education, and ultimately produce graduates who become valuable members of society, to the benefit of not only the student and his\/her family, but also the community and the country.<\/p>

Starting out small, with only ten (10) teachers and four hundred (400) students when it was established in SY 1994-1995, enrollment has steadily increased yearly. In 1997, under the management of Dr. Guillermina J. Tabamo, the school underwent significant changes: the school revised its curricula offerings; expanding its original technical\/vocational courses to 4-year degree programs in such fields as criminology, business administration, education, hotel and restaurant management, and social work.<\/p>
